Mastery of Scottish Arts

Welcome to the Mastery of Scottish Arts

For over ten years, we’ve been pursuing our mission to Raise the Scottish Arts in the Pacific Northwest to world class levels. We do this by presenting the finest bagpipers, Scottish drummers, fiddlers and Highland dancers in the world for concerts and instructional seminars. Whether from Scotland, Canada, the United States or beyond, we are dedicated to showing our beloved art forms at the highest level possible.

Benaroya Concert, February 6 2009, downtown Seattle
What better venue could there possibly be to showcase world class performers, than in Seattle’s own premier, world class venue: Benaroya Hall. Tickets will be available from TicketMaster in the fall of 2008 on their webpage: TicketMaster, or go to the Concert page to find out about group ticket discounts.

It’s almost as though it was built for bagpipes and Scottish drumming! Whether haunting aires or driving jigs and reels, melodic and lively fiddle tunes or incredibly athletic and precise Highland dancing, you can experience these Scottish art forms in ways that defy description. Many Scots from around the region will add to the festive atmosphere with colorful kilts, and more than one brogue will be heard. We invite everyone, “whether or not you’re Scottish,” to join in on the fun! For tickets and more information, go to the link on the left navigation menu.

Winter School, February 7-11, 2009, Seabeck Conference Center, Seabeck, WA
For those musicians pursuing excellence in their respective Scottish art form, this year we are pleased to offer instruction in:
  • Piping
  • Scottish side drumming
  • Scottish tenor drumming
  • Scottish bass drumming
  • Fiddling

The instructors boast multiple world champions in solo and band competitions amongst their number – you’ll benefit from small class size and top instruction. This is a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, practice lots and be immersed in Scottish music for several days. It’s an ideal learning environment and a ton of fun!
